Working with climate change and its impact on mental health - an event for BACP members

This online event will build on the BACP Climate Anxiety seminar of June 2022 and deepen your understanding and confidence in working with this increasingly important area.

The event will explore 3 different approaches to helping people to live with climate change and to manage the potential impacts on their mental health.

The event will be hosted by Linda Aspey who will also present on “The work that reconnects” (aka Active Hope) and how it can be useful in therapeutic work.  

Linda will be joined by two other contributors, Christie Wilson and Fred Ehresemann.

Christie is a psychotherapist from Psychology for a Safe Climate (Australia) who will discuss her climate journey and work as a climate-aware practitioner supporting counsellors, therapists and communities affected by climate induced weather events. .

Fred is a Mental Health Nurse based in Bristol specialising in children, young people and family mental health, and in using the Solution Focused approach in relation to climate change.

This online event will begin at 9.30am on on Thursday 4 May with a welcome from Linda Aspey and will conclude at 1.05pm

This event is relevant to therapists, counsellors and psychotherapists who would like to learn more about climate anxiety, the acknowledgement of the impact and the best practice guidelines. The event will build on the BACP Climate Anxiety seminar of June 2022 and deepen your understanding and confidence in working with this increasingly important area.
